The Parish Pastoral Council functions in accordance with the provisions of Canon Law 536, in the spirit of the documents of Vatican II and other ecclesiastical directives. It represents all the Catholics of the parish including the clergy, religious and laity. It shares with the parish priests, their responsibility for the growth of the parish as a community of faith, hope and love.
The following are the functions of the Council.
- To assist the Parish Priest and his assistants in making and implementing decisions pertaining to the pastoral life and works in the parish
- To foster a community of service in the parish
- To identify the needs of the parish, and propose suitable plans for the spiritual and material progress of the community.
- To promote the collaboration of all the parishioners and to coordinate with the activities of the various parish groups in the spirit of a family.
