Subsequent to the opening of the Summer Programme on Saturday 10 July 2010, the children rushed to their respective classrooms for an eventful day. The days at the camp are filled with educative, interactive presentations, easy cooking, first-aid, field trips, sports, singing, dancing, arts and craft. The day begins with prayer and physical exercises.
Entire group of 200 children is age-wise divided into six smaller groups under the supervision of two adults per group. Half an hour recess mid-morning sees the children regain their energies and prepare themselves for the second session of the day. Most of the 90 minute long sessions are conducted by resource personnel from reputed organisations in Dubai.
During the first week, youth from SFC and YFC took turns in teaching children dancing, singing and arts & craft whilst Lynette gave demonstrations in making fruit cocktail juices and fruit salads. Gizelle Pinto demonstrated to the children the fine art of icing the cakes. Saramma Tharakan introduced the youngsters to the Bible Resource Centre. Meghan Varghese illustrated the importance of healthy lifestyle and also taught them the importance of reading in public. Joseph Dias taught the children of Batch 5 how to draw caricatures. Zaldi Nazaieno taught the children how to administer first aid whilst Prof C F Joseph is in the process of training the participants on public speaking and communication skills. As part of the field trips, the campers of senior batches were priviledged to visit the Dubai Police Museum and demonstration of cake icing at Winny's Restaurant whereas Batch 4 participants visited the Green Planet Industries LLC's manufacturing plant to learn firsthand the process of making soaps.
