World Youth Day (or in short 'WYD') was initiated by Pope John Paul II in 1986. It is celebrated on a diocesan level annually, and at a week-long international level every two to three years at different locations. The international level events attract hundreds of thousands of youth from almost every country on the planet.

This year, the Catholic Church worldwide will be celebrating the 25th World Youth Day on Palm Sunday. However, we at St. Mary's Church Dubai will host the event on Saturday the 27th March 2010 for youth and young adults aged 15 years to 35 years from the parishes of Dubai, Jebel Ali and Sharjah.

Registration is open for interested participants; registration forms can be downloaded from here (see the link below) or can be obtained from the Parish Office. Members of parish youth groups may please register through their respective Group Leaders.

As the seats are limited, registrations will be accepted on a 'first come first served' basis and will be closed either on 15th March 2010 or when the required number of participants are registered.
